Privacy Policy

The short version

• Hush has no account, no sign-in and no server. Nothing you enter is sent to us or to anyone else.
• Hush contains no analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and no third-party SDKs.
• Everything you log stays in the app's storage on your device and in your device's own backups, under your control.
• If you connect Apple Health, Hush reads a few measurements to show them to you. It never writes to Health and never sends Health data anywhere.

What Hush stores on your device

To work, Hush keeps the following on your iPhone only:

• Your answers from setup — how many cigarettes a day you smoked, the price of a pack, roughly when you started, whether you are quitting or cutting down, your quit date, an optional first name and an optional reason for quitting.
• What you log — cravings you rode out (time, strength before and after, what set it off, which way you rode it out), cigarettes you smoked, moods and short notes.
• Preferences — appearance, language, which notifications you turned on, which insights range you last looked at, game best scores.
• Membership status — whether Hush+ is active (see "Purchases").

This data lives in the app's container and in a shared container used by Hush's widgets and Live Activity. It is included in your iCloud or iTunes device backup if you have backups enabled — that is Apple's backup, governed by Apple's terms; Hush itself has no cloud component.

Apple Health (optional)

The Body tab can show how a few measurements have changed since you quit. If you choose to connect Apple Health, Hush asks for read-only permission to:

• resting heart rate
• heart rate variability (HRV)
• VO₂ max
• sleep analysis

Hush reads these values to draw a small chart on your device. It does not write anything to Health, does not store copies outside the app, and does not transmit them. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → Hush, and the chart simply disappears.

Notifications

If you turn them on, Hush schedules local notifications — a morning line, body milestones, an evening check-in and a quiet line before your usual craving hour. These are created and delivered entirely on your device by iOS. Hush has no push server and never sends remote notifications.

Widgets and Live Activities

Home screen and lock screen widgets, and the craving Live Activity, read the same on-device data through the shared container. Nothing is sent off the device.

Sharing

Hush can create an image of your progress for you to share. The image is rendered on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet; where it goes from there is your choice and is governed by the app you share it with.

Purchases

Hush+ is sold through Apple's App Store as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Payment is processed by Apple; Hush never sees your payment details. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy. Hush stores only whether Hush+ is active, in order to unlock features.

Data we receive

None. Because Hush has no server and no analytics, we receive no personal data from the app. If you email us for support, we receive what you send and use it only to reply.

Deleting your data

You → Reset clears every log, milestone and setting and returns the app to the beginning. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes all of its data. If you connected Apple Health, revoking access in Settings stops Hush from reading it.

Children

Hush is not directed at children. It is intended for adults who smoke and want to stop.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date. Because Hush collects nothing, we do not expect material changes.
